I came home after a long long time and in the hallway
I bumped into a seventeen year old girl.
I said ‘it’s me’ but she shook her head like
there was water in her ears and salt in her eyes.
I said ‘it’s okay’ but she looked at me blankly.
I said ‘it won’t kill you’ but she hurried past
and turned that dark corner.
In the room I grew up in
I opened a wardrobe and an old friend fell out,
the yearbook photos where we sat side by side
staring the camera down. Arrogant and eagle-eyed.
That year it rained and I wore his jacket
until it smelt like him and me and his hair
and my smile

I am work weak on Wednesday
in a heap of hangover and hesitation
with fingers on a phone haptically
actively anticipating feedback—
I need that why do I need that.
My angst and anxiety
is constant and courses
and throbs with a pulse
that demands concern
of a baby boomer crooning poetic
in the distance to call me antisocial, or you know,
you could just call me.
If being this busy in an age
of constant communication
feels like having slept
but not feeling rested,
I'd rather cancel my plans
like a responsible millennial
and go to bed.

With your grace, love, strength, and smooth caress
As beautiful as the mother of Pearl
Lover of thy father, happiness, little Pearl, and the forbidden
Who feels self loathing, agony, anger, and pride
Who needs forgiveness, the truth, love, and a clear path
Who gives compassion, heart, a will to live, and hope
Who fears the light, redemption, death, and God
Who would like to see a new beginning, an old ending, the right to move on, and a reason to live

Just think of a trust that's been build up. I had an experience that man...ok well I got to ride in a virutal world on a dragon. I felt every bit of it- the motion, height, wind, dives, and experience flying in a whole new way. I mean riding a dragon- it's just amazing. This is going to be a new series I'll be doing. Think of this as a prologue. It's going to be named "Memorable" and hope you guys will read it. But know my inspiration and a lot of it will come from How To Train Your Dragon. I got a set of poems ready to be up soon.
